Attend the ceremony, Gilbert Honors Fallen Heroes, where community members gather to pay their respects and hear from veterans and local leaders. This solemn event provides a space for reflection and remembrance, allowing attendees to honor the sacrifices made by our military heroes.
As featured on Gilbertaz.gov, HD South and Gilbert are hosting a free Memorial Day ceremony from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Gilbert Civic Center on May 29.
The event will feature a flag and wreath ceremony, a POW/MIA table, a performance from the National Guard band, and much more.
The Water Tower Lighting event is also part of this ceremony. The Gilbert Water Tower will be lit red, white, and blue in observance of Memorial Day.
Community Memorial Day Event
Another such event, A Community Memorial Day Event will be held at the Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home to remember those who paid the ultimate price defending our freedoms. Flags will be placed at each military grave, and Memorial Day educational storyboards will be placed around the park.
This event will serve foods like hot dogs, lemonade ice cream, treats, and more.
A coloring contest for kids 12 and under will be held, with a winning prize of $50.

Creating a vibrant atmosphere of celebration while still honoring the memory of those who have served, this fun-filled Memorial Weekend is happening on Saturday, May 27th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where you can bring your family to Mesa Market Place for a Kids Day Event!
All events, festivities, admission, parking, and live entertainment are free!
This is the perfect event for kids as well as adults to have a fun-filled weekend.
